Contract content

Preamble: Names of the spouses and parents; consent of the mothers, Eberhard of Württemberg and the Prince of Condé

Article 1: Promise to obtain confirmation of their marriage in accordance with the rules of the Protestant churches

Article 2: Life estate of 4,000 livres promised from the castle and county of Horbourg

Article 3: The future spouses shall be jointly bound in all movable and immovable property acquired during the marriage; if one of the spouses dies before the other, the survivor shall inherit with priority in some areas

Article 4: The bride’s mother transfers to her daughter, in lieu of her father’s inheritance, Clam, Saint Germain and Breuillet in Haute-Auvergne; otherwise, the bride waives her inheritance rights

Article 5: Exemption of the bride from a monetary payment that her father had to make to the pastors of the church of Châtillon and other debts that may arise from the inheritance

Article 6: Regulation regarding the bride’s personal property

Article 7: Bride remains entitled to inherit from her mother

Article 8: Reversion of the lands to her mother if the bride dies before her mother without bodily heirs
