Preamble (165): To the praise and honour of God, for the benefit and welfare of both countries, to increase friendship and trust between both sides

Article 1: Consent for bride granted, consummation of marriage stipulated

Article 2: Dowry stipulated, trousseau regulated: after death of bride without children, continued use by groom, reversion regulated

Article 3: Widow’s property and income determined: widow’s residence, rights of use regulated

Article 4: Use of widow’s property regulated: registers and deeds of prescription regulated, instructions and legal status of servants and subjects regulated, rights of sovereignty reserved

Article 5: Remuneration and appointment of servants on widow’s property regulated

Article 6: Any improvements to widow’s property regulated

Article 7: Morning gift specified

Articles 8-11: Condition, commencement of use, maintenance of widow’s property regulated: opening to third parties prohibited, compensation regulated

Article 12: In the event of the bride’s second marriage: compensation for widow’s estates, interest on donatio propter nuptias and morning gift, delivery of the bride’s personal possessions regulated

Article 13: Renunciation of inheritance by the bride regulated: in return for payment of dowry, on paternal and fraternal inheritance, with the consent of the groom

Article 14: Compliance guaranteed
