[Pre] – on the advice of Bavarian estates and subjects, to strengthen the succession in the electoral house after the death of his first wife: the groom’s intention to remarry was announced – the groom’s turn towards the royal house of Poland was announced: for the salutary benefit of the Christian cause, for the eternal honour of the groom, out of consideration for Poland’s connections to the Empire, to renew ties with Poland, out of consideration for the Polish house’s descent from the Piasts, for its centuries of service and victories for Christianity, for the victories of the bride’s father and for the high lineage of the bride’s mother: Betrothal announced – consent of the bride’s father with the agreement of the bride’s mother and bride, appointment of negotiators and conclusion of contract announced: for the happiness and joy of Christianity, for the glory of God, for the adornment and benefit of both princely houses, for the immortality of the Polish state (371 – 373)

1 – Dowry determined, trousseau regulated: maternal inheritance of the bride regulated, in return for the bride’s renunciation of her paternal inheritance

2 – Donatio propter nuptias and widow’s estate determined: rights of use regulated, rights of dominion excluded, inspection and, if necessary, rectification guaranteed

3 – Morning gift regulated: at the discretion of the groom

4 – After the death of the groom: payment of dowry, trousseau and accrued gains to the bride regulated, widow’s income regulated, free choice of residence guaranteed - Widow’s residence regulated: furnishings regulated – maintenance for the bride and her household during the marriage regulated

5 – After the death of the bride: inheritance of estate to children regulated – after the death of the bride without children: use of dowry and trousseau by the groom for life, thereafter reversion regulated

[6] – In the event of the death of the bride or groom before the marriage: nullity of the contract agreed (377)

[Esch] – Compliance guaranteed, ratification and handover of deed of renunciation of inheritance regulated (377)
