The bride’s uncle’s approval of the groom’s courtship as a means of better preserving public peace and tranquillity, the bride’s uncle’s consent expressed: as a sign of the desire for honest and lasting friendship with Spain for the good of Christianity and the renewal of happy marital ties between France and Spain – Appointment of negotiators and conclusion of preliminary agreement expressed, conclusion of agreement expressed (207-209)
1 – Marriage vows exchanged, marriage arranged: by procurator for groom at French court, according to Catholic rite, after obtaining dispensation from the Pope
2 – Dowry determined: in return for the bride’s renunciation of her paternal and maternal inheritance, from gifts from the bride’s maternal grandmother and mother, rectification and payment arranged
3 – Bridal jewels determined by the bride’s father
4 – Investment of the dowry in property and annuities arranged
