[Pre] – To the praise and glory of God, for the strengthening and welfare of both countries: Marriage agreed upon.

1 – Consent given for the groom. Marriage agreed upon: Date reserved for consummation.

2 – Reformed religious practice of the bride and her court regulated: with court chaplain.

3 – Dowry determined, trousseau arranged: payment arranged

4 – Bride’s renunciation of inheritance arranged: with the consent of the groom, the Danish king

5 – Morning gift determined

6 – Maintenance of the bride during the marriage determined

7 – Bride’s court regulated: remuneration determined

8 – Bride’s court regulated: appointment regulated

9 – Donatio propter nuptias, widow’s estate determined: incl. widow’s residence, rights of use regulated, widow’s income determined

Commentary

Due to the difference in religious denominations, both the Julian and Gregorian calendars are used to date the contract; resulting in a double date: 5 March 1667 / 15 March 1667; the date given above is according to the Gregorian calendar.
