Article 1: Marriage agreed: with reference to the Peace Treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis of 3 April 1559, function of the Duke of Alba as procurator of Philip II, dowry set at 400,000 écus: payment, investment and use regulated

Article 2: Elizabeth’s renunciation of her inheritance rights in France regulated

Article 5: Philip II’s donation of a dowry of 50,000 écus guaranteed, Elizabeth’s ownership rights to the jewels and treasures she brought into the marriage regulated

Article 6: Elizabeth’s maintenance during the marriage regulated, must be appropriate for a daughter of royal house, regulations regarding appropriate accommodation for Elizabeth

Article 7: Dowry share for widow’s maintenance determined: instead of a life estate in accordance with Spanish custom, regulation of Elisabeth’s inheritance rights in the event of Philip’s premature death

Article 8: Elisabeth’s right to return to France as a widow is guaranteed, as is her right to take her court and movable property with her

Article 9: Elisabeth’s transfer to Spain is regulated, with the bride to be handed over to the Spanish party either at the border with Spain or with the Netherlands, and compliance with the contract is guaranteed
