Contract content

1 – Dowry of 30,000 Reichstalers; 20,000 Talers are to be paid by Frederick III of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf and 10,000 Reichstalers by the bride’s mother

2 – Dower of 30,000 Reichstalers; The castle and county of Neuhaus are designated as the widow’s estate; a life estate of 6,000 Reichstalers; if the groom dies before the widow Maria of Brunswick-Lüneburg, the widow’s estate shall initially consist of the palace, county, and town of Lauenburg, with the exception of the Elbe toll and the ferry to Artlenburg

3 – Morning gift of 200 Reichstalers annually

4 – Regulations regarding attendance of nobles

5 – Provisions regarding dowry, trousseau, and life estate in the event of death; regulations regarding the bride’s remarriage
