Marriage contract no. 429: Spanien - Savoyen

Contract content

The dowry was set at 200,000 gold scudi, which would be offset against the much larger outstanding Spanish dowries, in particular the dowry of Catherine Michaela of Spain (wife of Charles Emmanuel I) and the 200,000 scudi that Philip III had promised to Margaret of Savoy and Francesco IV. Gonzaga on the occasion of the marriage, and on the other hand, it is offset against the outstanding Spanish subsidies for the past war (debts to be settled within one year)
