Preamble: Agreement on the drafting of a marriage contract announced: before marriage, after preliminary agreement 11 July 1766 – Appointment of negotiators announced: to cement old friendship between rich people, as a harbinger of a happy future – Negotiations, conclusion of contract announced

Article 1: Marriage agreed: after transfer of the bride to Sweden, church wedding arranged

Article 2: Dowry determined: payment arranged, in return for the bride’s renunciation of inheritance, use arranged in favour of the groom, reversion after the death of the bride without children arranged, use by the bride after the death of the groom arranged

Article 3: Trousseau arranged

Article 4: Morning gift determined: use arranged

Article 5: Maintenance of the bride during the marriage determined: in addition to the morning gift and widow’s income, for clothing and personal needs, payment arranged, increase in maintenance and widow’s income guaranteed after the bride’s accession to the throne

Article 6: The bride’s household is regulated: the appointment and remuneration of servants are regulated

Article 7: Donatio propter nuptias and widow’s income are specified: instead of the transfer of widow’s property, payment is regulated – the widow’s residence is specified: rights of use, condition and furnishings regulated – transfer of widow’s residence upon the widow’s departure abroad regulated – personal property of the bride as a widow regulated

Article 8: Children’s education regulated: Lutheran denomination prescribed, financing regulated

Article 9: Indemnity of the bride from Swedish debts guaranteed

Article 10: After the death of the bride without surviving children: continued use of dowry, reversion after the death of the groom regulated, transfer of accrued gains and trousseau to the groom regulated – after the death of spouses with surviving children: inheritance of dowry, donatio propter nuptias and estate of the bride regulated – in the event of the bride’s second marriage with or without surviving children: with the consent of the Swedish estates, redemption of widow’s income at the discretion of the Swedish king regulated, transfer of widow’s residence regulated

Article 11: upon the death of the bride or groom before the marriage: nullity of the marriage contract regulated

Article 12: ratification regulated
