[Pre] –Proclaiming peace as the greatest gift of Jesus Christ to humanity, proclaiming marriage as the foundation for peace and harmony between kings and princes, the will of both kings for peace between Scotland and England proclaimed – after courtship and the consent of the bride’s father, by virtue of royal authority, to the praise of God, to the honour, peace, advantage and benefit of both kings, kingdoms and their subjects: the following articles proclaimed between negotiators (19 re – 20 li)

[1] – Marriage agreed: after the bride reaches the age of 12, date set (20 li)

[2] – Validity of the marriage assured: despite the kinship of the bride and groom, with papal dispensation obtained, further legal action due to kinship excluded (20 li)

[3] – Date for marriage set (20 li)

[4] – Transfer of bride to groom regulated: not before the set date (20 li)

[5] – Transfer of bride to Scotland and church wedding regulated (20 re)

[6] – Suspension of widow’s property arranged: in Scottish estates and pensions, transfer of ownership to the bride arranged, widow’s income determined, any adjustments arranged, guaranteed by the Scottish Parliament, use by the groom for life arranged (20 re)

[7] – Maintenance for the bride and her household during the marriage regulated: at the groom’s expense, appointment of servants regulated (21 li)

[8] – Maintenance of the bride during the marriage stipulated: from widow’s property, for the lifetime of the groom, payment regulated, use by the bride regulated (21 li)

[9] – After the death of the groom: widow’s maintenance from widow’s property regulated, free choice of residence for the widow regulated (21 li)

[10] – Transfer of documents relating to widow’s property to the bride’s father regulated (21 li – 21 re)

[11] – Dowry determined: payment and receipt regulated (21 re)

[12] – In the event of the bride’s death without children before the end of the dowry payment: cessation of dowry payment regulated (21 re)
