[Pre] –Proclaiming peace as the greatest gift of Jesus Christ to humanity, proclaiming marriage as the foundation for peace and harmony between kings and princes, the will of both kings for peace between Scotland and England proclaimed – after courtship and the consent of the bride’s father, by virtue of royal authority, to the praise of God, to the honour, peace, advantage and benefit of both kings, kingdoms and their subjects: the following articles proclaimed between negotiators (19 re – 20 li)

[2] – Validity of the marriage assured: despite the kinship of the bride and groom, with papal dispensation obtained, further legal action due to kinship excluded (20 li)
